Sales copy
Sales copy is basically marketing oriented content. It informs and it sells for you. The lines on the Internet are constantly blurring between various forms of writing and often you have your content writer also preparing the sales copy for you. For instance, although very few clients realize this, when writing content for them I’m writing it with the intention of increasing their sales, and even they hire me for that basic purpose.
Of course you need content to inform your readers, send them regular updates, establish trustworthiness and customer loyalty, create buzz and in general create an enriching experience while people go through your website, but by the end of the day the only thing that matters is how much business that content has been able to generate for you.
Sales copy is more direct
Unlike the normal content, your sales copy directly tells your visitors to do business with you. There are lots of “call to action” words like “buy now”, “purchase”, “subscribe”, and so on aside from providing useful information that a person can read and then do the stuff mentioned in the call to action words.
